We are screwed. But on Jan 3rd, there will be a glimmer of light in the distance.

2. Voices screaming in the wilderness of apathy and delusion

among the screaming hoard who float rump's boat?

My hope is that the darkest of days are behind US. My fear is that the insanity continues until the menace has been removed or neutralized.

3. Trump's base may be tens of millions of people.

They are going nowhere and if Trump is forced to resign or defeated in what they as well as he will call a fraudulent election, they will not go gently into that good night. It would only take a fraction of them to cause lots of trouble.

But Trump and all that has happened now are a result of people of compassion and empathy and good faith who were not vigilant in what should have been a duty to democracy. This nation has already been changed by Trump and the impact of his judicial appointments will impact us for up to a generation.
This is going to be a war without a foreseeable end and if we are complacent, then we lose.
