Trump’s eventual summit with Kim Jong-un released tension from what had become an increasingly concerning war of words between two of the world’s most petulant leaders. On New Year’s Day, Kim warned that the United States is “within the range of our nuclear strike and a nuclear button is always on the desk of my office.” Trump countered deftly, noting that he has a bigger button.
