Teacher fights to spend more time with sick wife
SUWANEE, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
A Gwinnett County teacher is fighting to use donated days off to spend more time with his wife, who recently lost her hands and feet.
Mark Rinehart left his wife's hospital room for a short time on Thursday. He attended the Gwinnett County School Board meeting, where he was surrounded by friends and colleagues.
Rinehart's wife, Hannah Rinehart, is a cancer survivor. This summer she contracted a rare infection that forced doctors to amputate her hands and feet. She is currently in the ICU at Northside Hospital.
Mark Rinehart's co-workers volunteered to donate their days off to him so he could spend more time with his wife and keep his job. The Gwinnett County School District does not have a policy allowing the transfer of days.
