Conservatives are starting to admit that Donald Trump is finished

The math for Donald Trump’s ouster is fairly straightforward. If twenty Republican Senators selfishly decide that the best move for themselves and their conservative billionaire donors is to throw Donald Trump overboard, that’ll be enough votes for ouster, and he’ll be gone. The question is how much worse things have to get before the GOP Senate decides not to go down with Trump’s ship. We may be closer than you think.
--------
Trump’s nihilistic anti-government base might be rooting for him to burn it all down, but the traditional conservatives – the ones who care about their money – have had just about enough of this crap.

Keep in mind that Republican Senators are generally puppets of a fairly small number of conservative billionaire political donors. If those donors say it’s time for Donald Trump to be removed, it’ll happen. If the GOP informs Trump that he’s facing certain ouster at the end of his Senate impeachment trial, he’ll have no choice left but to negotiate a resignation plea deal in exchange for reduced prison time.

I suppose the questions is - will the die hards burn it all down around him as he goes? I am sure he will call on them to do just that....

for him to give them.

Meanwhile, he's screwing up their core businesses with his idiotic trade nonsense, the wall, and everything else he's managing to screw up as badly as he did his own businesses.

At some point he has to go before it all comes crashing down-- his backers will still have their money, but, unlike the 20's, they realize they need customers.

Nixon took his hike when key Republican senators told him it was over. Trump will not so willingly walk the plank, but he has to go.

And go he will.

I think Trump has been pretty much a tool of the GOP. They got what they want from his presidency and will now sit back and watch him flail.

Their issue is how to hold the Trump voters while tossing Trump. I hope the Dems are wise enough to recognize the need to force them to take a stand.

The more Republicans will be voted out of office in Nov. 2020. The longer this shutdown lasts, also the more Republicans will be voted out of office, so the balls in their court, unless they forgot what happened to them this Mid Term election.

This is exactly the correct analysis.

I’d add one thing: of the small number of GOP billionaires controlling the Congress, the ones that control propaganda outlets have the largest influence: Murdoch, Mercer (Breitbart), Koch (Daily Caller).

Watch those propaganda media outlets. The rightwing media will turn on Trump first, then Congress will follow.

him as a fraud, a gangster and a traitor. If Nancy et all really hold public hearings, he'll bail and take a private plane to argentina. I still say he's gonna just up and quit, and leave his children holding the bag, and grandma pense in charge. The gop thinks pense will cater to their greed: the church always knew it was most powerful when propping up corrupt government.

acknowledges how dangerous t-rump's die hard supporters are. Some would willingly destroy, hurt, maim and even kill because they feel that their ideology and way of life is threaten.

This is what t-rump has strived for inorder to keep power while stealing money and any decency of the USA.

Many of his supporters have jumped ship and want him gone. The die hard supporters will remain.

The true "fake" news is fox news and hate radio and other conservative outlets, including the religious ones. They have well over 50 years to bring the USA to this point, and it may get even worst.

The Republican party is a cult. The Republican oligarchs are greedy sobs. And the bottom line with people mentioned in this writing . . .

They just don't care.

the politicians may prefer to prop him up for the next year, continue to pack the courts with right wing ideologues, & then primary him. It would be interesting if the GOP donors want something different than the GOP politicians. I would love to see that fight.
