MSNBC to feature event with Pelosi: 'The Speaker: An MSNBC Town Hall'
MSNBC announced it will feature Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) in a town hall at her alma mater in her first major television event after she is expected to be sworn in as Speaker.
The Speaker: An MSNBC Town Hall will moderated by weekend host Joy Reid from Trinity Washington University, the nations first Catholic liberal arts college for women, in Washington, D.C. on Jan. 4.
"Incoming Speaker Pelosi will share her legislative agenda, examine the race within the Democratic Party for the presidential nomination, discuss her thoughts on the Trump administration and more," reads the announcement from the Comcast-owned network. "The town hall will also feature questions from audience members."
Pelosi, 78, who served as Speaker of the House from 2007-2011, was the first woman to serve in that capacity. She was overwhelmingly nominated to become her partys nominee for Speaker recently, and has until Jan. 3 to lock down the 218 votes she needs on the House floor to reclaim the Speaker's gavel.
