Poll finds 33 percent would definitely or likely back Trump for reelection

Trump would start his reelection bid with just 33 percent of voters planning to "definitely" or "likely" vote for him, according to a Harvard CAPS/Harris poll released exclusively to The Hill.

The poll asked 1,473 voters whether they would either “definitely vote for Trump,” “probably vote for Trump,” “probably vote for the Democratic candidate,” “definitely vote for the Democratic candidate” or “vote for an independent or other candidate” should the president seek reelection in 2020.

Twenty-two percent said they will “definitely” vote for Trump, while 11 percent said they will “probably” vote for the president.

Thirty-three percent said they would “definitely” vote for the Democrat in that race, while 11 percent of respondents said they would “probably” vote for Trump’s eventual Democratic opponent.

of deplorables, they didn't stem the Dem tide last month.

Let's hope, if he does run, he can't steal another election.

Perspective is important, it's just that it is a fuckton of people, and those people are ugly, violent assholes.

had not forced Germany to surrender. I met a man from Wetzler who more or less kept a shrine for Hitler in his basement (hidden, of course). Men of a certain age and/or socioeconomic background see Hitler and the Third Reich as "the good ole days".

.... to "the heroes of the south" in the civil war are good things. They also believe that Jesus was
a white dude who has promised them an extra comfy couch in heaven if they are mean to black
and gay people when they live on earth.

Fuck 'em and move on. We shouldn't spend 1 second trying to reach out to them instead we should
make sure that we have clean elections.

South Carolina will soon be blue too. 35% African American and 11% (and growing) Hispanic.

Scientists at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute[1] have found that when just 10 percent of the population holds an unshakable belief, their belief will always be adopted by the majority of the society. The scientists, who are members of the Social Cognitive Networks Academic Research Center (SCNARC) at Rensselaer, used computational and analytical methods to discover the tipping point where a minority belief becomes the majority opinion. The finding has implications for the study and influence of societal interactions ranging from the spread of innovations to the movement of political ideals.

Consider that some of those polled may have imagined Candidate X (insert whatever Dem name that terrifies them here) and they reacted to that fear. At this point in the cycle name recognition is limited, and that definitely colors candidate choice.

We acknowledge that the orange anus has a base. We talk about it and disparage it regularly. They aren't going anywhere, and probably would die before voting for any Dem--just like there are voters that would rather die than vote for a Republican. What is significant in that poll is the 22 percent that would definitely support him. That's an erosion of the previous percentage that would support him.

Don't panic.
