I just noticed this and find CNN's distinction of AOC's party affiliation interesting:

"Medicare-for-all" has become a contentious issue for Democrats as they prepare to assume the majority in January. Some new House Democrats, such as Democratic socialist Rep.-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, championed the issue on the campaign trail despite trepidation from other parts of the party. But Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi has indicated that she is open to considering a more public option during the new Congress.

Why isn't a similar distinction applied to certain Republicans? For example: "outgoing Republican reactionary Rep. Kooky McKookface or Republican fascist Senator-elect Atilla the Hun;

Did this get by CNN's editor or is it an example of what we should expect from the MSM?

Wikipedia is your friend:

Ocasio-Cortez is a self-described democratic socialist. She is a member of the Democratic Socialists of America.

Now we know exactly what WILL work so, the new congress should write the perfect healthcare bill and bring it up as many times as the gop brought up anti Obamacare votes. Sooner or later it will find a sweet spot, get passed, and we'll have the correct president to sign it. Sure wish it was Pres. HRC bc she suffered for 25 years for daring to make it her FLOTUS issue oh so long ago.
It would be the perfect pay-back for all of us. It's time. Make it permanent...just like they do with their tax cuts.
Public option, + all the stuff we had initially, MINUS the ability for insurance companies to raise premiums. Happy Dance.
Aim High. (Again)

I want people more comfortable with the word socialism. I believe we are best served by having a strong private sector under the principles of regulated capitalism while the means of production and distribution of certain segments should be more socialist in nature. I believe most of us feel that way.
