Brennan: "It's my sincere hope" that GOP abandons Trump in 2019 over his "corruption"

https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/423323-brennan-exposure-of-trumps-corruption-will-hopefully-convince

Former CIA Director John Brennan said Monday it was his "sincere hope" that enough Republicans would abandon President Trump in 2019 after learning of what he called his "malfeasance and corruption."

"It is my sincere hope that the forthcoming exposure of your malfeasance & corruption will convince enough Republicans to abandon you in 2019," Brennan tweeted. "We have had enough of your whining from the White House. We need an actual leader—our Nation’s future is at stake."

Brennan quoted a tweet from Trump where he defended his decision to withdraw U.S. troops from Syria. Trump claimed that any other leader would have been widely praised for the move.

"I am the only person in America who could say that, 'I’m bringing our great troops back home, with victory,' and get BAD press," Trump said early Monday morning. "It is Fake News and Pundits who have FAILED for years that are doing the complaining. If I stayed in Endless Wars forever, they would still be unhappy!"

it was one of a number of tweets from Trump on Monday defending the controversial decision. Among other things, Trump said that he campaigned on withdrawing from Syria "and other places," and that he was against "never ending wars."

Trump abruptly announced earlier this month that he would withdraw troops from Syria, declaring that the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria had been defeated in the region. He has since said that the extremist group is "mostly" wiped out.

Defense Secretary James Mattis announced that he would resign shortly after the announcement. Many GOP and Democratic lawmakers have voiced strong opposition to the move.

LOL! If the GOP ever abandons Trump, and that's a very big if, it won't be because he's corrupt. It will be because he's dead weight and no longer useful.
