After the TX Senate race, I was definitely opposed to Beto running for President but now I find myself an example of the old adage "Republicans fall in line, Democrats fall in love." I can't help it but when I see his picture I get a little buzz. Somebody talk me down!

(26,044 posts)...but I can't see Democrats nominating a candidate who's biggest claim to fame is losing, however narrowly, to Ted Cruz.
In general, I advise against "falling in love" with any potential candidate, particularly when its an undeclared candidate so early in the race. We need to stick together this time, and emotional attachments to Candidate A may generate animosity toward any other candidate who may best them in the primaries.

I don't like to pick favorites this early, as that doesn't seem to go so well. But I've got my eye on him as well.
