a health insurance small business question -

If we had single payer in this country, would you be likely to try your hand at starting a small business?

1. I'm out of the starting a business business...

but if we had single payer, I'd be a bazillion times more likely to work for a small business. I'm pretty certain that a lot of professionals in corporations would too. That's the big equalizer for single payer in the business world: easier to attract talent and easier to build a small business.

2. I know my little town lost its music store when the owner shut

down and took a job elsewhere so he could get health insurance.

3. you'd think business (of all sizes) would be the leaders in pushing single payer

to shed the burden of handling private insurance.

but i live in a brain dead country. nothing makes sense.

5. I can tell you for a fact that I would have never started.....

my business if it wasn't for the health insurance through my wife's boss. We were lucky and it turned out that we don't pay anything for it.
You have to be a risk taker to start a business, but what level of risk. I wouldn't risk my kids not having coverage.
At the end of the day I believe you would see a lot of people start their own businesses if they didn't have to worry about health care.
