More HELP, please:

Person to whom I replied earlier, at Star Exponent, wrote: 'Ellen G so in 2008 we wre 9 trilion in debt so the government said lets spend another 6 trillion over budget and it will be ok...Will you people please stop it.. The government gets its money from taxes the more thay take the more they spend..Its time to grow up.. If you didn't pay 75 thousand dollars in taxes last year 'You" are the problem ..'

I'm about to respond with something like 'As I recall, in 2008 and prior years, the Bush administration conducted wars off-budget, thought we the people would not notice, and left the next administration to attempt to solve the remaining problems. Since that time, employment has improved, resulting in more resources to attempt to clean up the mess.'

Suggestions?

Found http://pleasecutthecrap.typepad.com/main/what-has-obama-done-since-january-20-2009.html, which I'm using selectively.

This sound OK? 'As I recall, in 2008 and prior years, the Bush administration conducted wars off-budget, thought we the people would not notice, and left the next administration to attempt to solve the resulting problems. Since that time employment has improved, resulting in more resources to attempt to clean up the mess, and furthermore, the administration played a lead role in getting the G-20 Summit to commit to a $1.1 trillion deal to combat the global financial crisis, saved at least 300,000 education jobs, such as teachers, principals, librarians and counselors that would have otherwise been lost, and saved thousands of police and firefighter jobs from being cut.'

I do like your rebuttal, but from experience, it won't matter. They'll quickly switch to some other "fact" that they know.

wrote Ellen, and when those figures are proved to be wrong, what will you do for america then? Leave I hope...........

Try this for instance that only by cutting we increase? When you promise people other peoples money ,these are the problems you create...What happens if we don’t raise the debt ceiling but continue to pay interest on our bonds? This is an option known as “prioritization.” The Bipartisan Policy Center released a report attempting to think through how this would work in practice, as it has never been attempted before. The raw numbers are chilling: In August, the federal government would have to cut expenditures by about $134 billion, or 10 percent of the month’s GDP. If it chose, for instance, to fund Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, supplies for the troops and interest on our bonds, it would have to stop funding every other part of the federal government. The drop in demand, when coupled with the turmoil in the markets and the general financial uncertainty, would undoubtedly throw the economy back into a recession. Also keep in mind that we have to roll over $500 billion in debt that month, and if there was uncertainty about how we were going to pay our bills, it is not clear we could find buyers for our debt at anything less than an exorbitant rate. In this way, “prioritization” could actually increase the deficit.

aas usual you're so wrong..Its about whos money ,so stop it..9-11 we were attacked because of failures of dems so stop it you are not educated enough..Talking points are great at college but real world it doesn't work.. We dont need firefighters if we have nothing to protect or police if there is nothing left to steal.. Ellen its over foryou, you just dont know it.. Still counting on someone else to pay you isn't nice.Maybe I should teach you about the failure of 1917 ,which brought about the real reason are in this 'debt 'mess, and at that time women didn't even have the right to vote, but yet our government knew best..Grow up already, you are the problem, still trying to solve other peoples problems with other peoples money..IT WILL NEVER WORK

on FB- today she posted a thing about a "Patriotic Veteran" being arrested by the Obama administration for his comments on FB. I went and looked at his statements, one of which said "sharpen my ax, I'm going to sever some heads". I responded to her post by saying I didn't think that was a very "patriotic statement"- she asked me where the hell I got that quote from, I said 'the guys page on FB'- she got all bent out of shape, told me Obama was the worst president ever, that I would understand when he started rounding people up and putting them to death in the gas chambers-

I told her she was getting pretty paranoid-

and she said some unpleasant things and then "unfriended" me.

Things are getting absolutely insane it seems. People are going off the edge. I'm hoping it is because they realize they are losing and are losing it as a result.

Hang in there-

She ain't no 'friend,' happens the paper that covered Powell's Town Hall includes FB connections/likes, so we learn all sorts of things about eachother. Suspect her suggestion that I 'leave' the country related to my full name, different origin than hers. At least she's not in Powell's District!

How do you like her blaming 9/11 on Dems???!!!!

a bank approves another credit application, or a mortgage, or a car loan, or any form of credit.

The Constitution vests the power to create money in government. We live in an un-Constitutional economy run by a private banking cartel called the Federal Reserve. The Fed has implemented "fractional reserve lending" through PRIVATE digital tools that manufacture and process and manipulate the PRIVATE codes that we call money. Your friend's complaint about debt refers to the entire system. Because it is a private system, it has biases that result in things like the financial power to buy "public" offices and operate nation-wide propaganda systems, referred to as media. As a result of these biases, some people just have a whole lot more of nothing than others do and all systems protect that advantage, quite effectively because they are private systems and money is a private commodity.

touch the defense spending that is anti-american and lets the terrorist win. instead we should spend money we don't have on rich people getting tax cuts and more defense spending/wars. republicans are not against government spending they are just against spending it on poor people. just like they are not "pro-life" they are anti-abortion because you can not be pro-life if you are pro war and pro death penalty.
