Someone please tell me that "Legitimate Rape" Akin is NOT leading McCaskill by 8 points in the polls

What the FUCK!

Before I ever hear someone say "What's the matter with Kansas"?...they'd better answer "What the fuck is wrong with Missouri?" first

The same thing happened with Clayton Williams vs. Ann Richards in Texas. It's a ripple effect.

This state is the base for radical Christian fundamentalism. So bad that it is scary.

think about how he made the school lunch comment just a couple of days ago and this comment only today. The primary wasn't even two weeks ago-he's flying off the polling results of the primaries.

Give it a few weeks. This is the guy that the Dems wanted to win the primary. There's a reason for this and he's starting to show exactly why he was almost handpicked by the Democratic Party to win the Republican Primary.

Did you notice during the primaries how there were attack commercials against all the Repub candidates by Claire's camp except for one-Todd Akin? They chose him for a reason.

Her only real attack against him was that he was "too conservative" for the state. The others (Steelman and Co) had real attacks against them, using actual quotes and voting records (or company finance info). In the case of Akin she pushed that he was very conservative, knowing that his comments about Medicare alone would lose him a large voting bloc in Missouri. (He wants an end to Medicare because he believes it's not the government's job to give out any kind of health care.) She already knew his stance about abortion, including his crap spewed here, because he'd made similar comments along with Paul Ryan just last fall. She knew his views on school lunch (basically, if the parents are too poor to feed the kids the government shouldn't worry about feeding them either. Let 'em starve.)

Now, look back at the primary. Her campaign threw out a number of hardballs against the real challengers and lobbed a slow pitch towards Akin. If it's done right, she'll be the one hitting the ball out of the park. And I think she might have done this perfectly.

Most of the polling results were directly after the primary. Claire is well-known across the state while Todd is mostly known in his district. It's a case of being interested in the new and exciting.

During the primaries the Dems didn't spend much money on campaigning for Claire. What they did was a great job of putting the word out against the other candidates in the Republican primary-all except for Todd Akin. This man was left alone by the Democratic Party for a reason and now everyone knows the reason.

I was a bit worried about Claire. I'm the first to admit it. Now I'm seeing what could be the start of a brilliant campaign that started a few months back-all with almost no notice of Claire.

That is the most up to date polling figures. I'm sure the real polls will reflect that shortly as well.
