This blew my mind.
When on break last week, I was speaking with a very young female black co-worker. A couple of my co-workers were talking politics (kind of) when the other (male) person went back in and left the two of us women together.
The gist of the conversation was she said that Obama was advocating abortion for Blacks and Hispanics to reduce the population of these groups. I admit that I was shocked to hear this. I tried to let her know it was all about choice and Obama was behind freedom of choice for women to have a child when and if they wanted or whatever personal decision they made. I then told her about a personal experience that happened to me where the child I was carrying died while inside of me and did not naturally abort, and that under Romney, they would have let me die.
It blew my mind that she thought this was what Obama was all about. I hope I got through to her as I had to go back into work.
Has anyone else heard this kind of crap? I sure hope it was an isolated case.

It's hard to keep up.

(14,177 posts)Blacks that are against abortion and gay marriage become more open minded on the subject. They still say that they wouldn't want their daughters to get an abortion. Many are still uncomfortable with gay marriage, but they are willing to over look that. I think in a couple of decades we will look at this time and wonder what the big deal was. I am already there.

(2,480 posts)A few months ago in Georgia, dozens of anti-abortion billboards were placed in low-income neighborhoods with messages suggesting abortion is a racist conspiracy to kill or enslave women of color. The billboards, with slogans like black children are an endangered species, were paid for by Georgia Right to Life and the Radiance Foundation, a organization dedicated to promoting this conspiracy myth.
Same group that trots out the legitimate rape bs.

Does that make any sense to you?
You do realize our President has two black children of his own, right?
I do like what you said to her. I hope you got through.

They say abortion is genocide. I think it was International Coalition of Color for Life? Maybe?
