When, not if BARR interferes one way or another with Mueller or outcome...then what?

Oh, wait, I am supposed to give him the benefit of the doubt first, right?

1. He'll be hauled before the House Judiciary, Intelligence and/or other committees

to testify about what was in the report and why he interfered with or suppressed it. I don't trust Barr either, but he's been around long enough to know that he'd run into a buzzsaw if he meddled with Mueller's investigation or sat on the final report. Adam Schiff and others on those committees have made that very clear.

2. What? That was the old USA, our institutions, laws etc are no longer

at play as long as putin is in charge and rump and his base are willing to ignore the law and dare us to do something about it.

This buzzsaw you speak of would result in what, legally? Worst case? I am asking.

And if the answer could be he is held criminally liable for something, no problem, he will be pardoned.

I am very angry and I dont know how to express it but the one thing I am CERTAIN is Barr gave a promise to rump to derail justice. I am SURE of that.

A. I would LOVE to be wrong

B. I will celebrate my wrongness with you if I am

3. The House is now controlled by Democrats. They have subpoena power.

While Congress does not have prosecutorial power, they do have the ability to bring to light whatever crimes might have been committed. Don't forget - the GOP was firmly on Nixon's side until the 1974 hearings, which damn near everybody watched, publicly exposed Nixon's involvement in the coverup, with the result that Nixon's public support collapsed. It was only then - because the people no longer supported him (his poll numbers dropped to about 26%) that enough GOPers in the Senate turned against him to make conviction following impeachment likely enough that he felt compelled to resign. Trump's poll numbers are already only in the high 30s, and according to at least some polls, strong support is a good deal less. If hearings were to expose to the public the the extent of Trump's malfeasance, I think the result could be the same as Watergate. It all seems to be following the same path.

4. OK, thanks. So lets say the report is given to Barr, it calls for indicting

all these different criminals, he sits on it, does nothing.

Do they have the ability or the power to get that report unchanged? If not, then I predict he will do exactly that.

I so want to be WRONG! I was WRONG that the SC did not interfere on that bank deal, I want to be again. I just dont see any hope though.

6. They have the power to call Mueller to testify as to what the report actually said.

But Mueller's report isn't likely to "call for" indicting anybody because he already has the power to ask a grand jury to indict anyone who seems to deserve it, and if the grand jury agrees they will issue those indictments. The report will contain other information about matters relating to Russia but indictments will be issued if evidence presented to the grand jury is sufficient, although whether the president can be indicted is an open question. The report is irrelevant to indictments.

7. Yes., I said that wrong, thanks for reminding me.

Is it true the ONLY reason the DOJ has a no indictment position is that fuck BORK wrote it during Watergate?

Ya know what makes my blood boil, seeing a serial rapist on the SC.

8. No, Bork wrote an opinion stating that a vice president *could* be indicted,

but assuming that a president couldn't be, following the first Office of Legal Counsel memo to that effect. There were actually several memos that came out of the OLC (Bork was the Solicitor General at the time he wrote the memo and was not in the OLC). Here's some history. https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2018/05/presidential-indictment/560957/

5. The record will be broken

After Barr and the others were breaking the law , and it is proven , and a record 3 AG's from this administration headed for prison. Barr may already have been part of this with trump , and for putin to manipulate with being compromised.

9. Sure wish you could be correct, but I am dubious. Putin has us by the balls.
