Pres. Obama: "You can't just make stuff up."

http://news.yahoo.com/president-obama-defends-campaigns-tone-184543824--abc-news-politics.html

He really nailed the false equivalence that CBS' Nancy Cordes was proposing:

As for the TV ad from the pro-Obama super-PAC Priorities USA Action that suggests layoffs ordered by Bain Capital played a role in the death of a steelworker's wife, the president said, "I don't think that Governor Romney is somehow responsible for the death of the woman that was portrayed in that ad. But keep in mind this is an ad that I didn't approve, I did not produce and, as far as I can tell, has barely run. I think it ran once. Now, in contrast, you've got Governor Romney creating, as a centerpiece of his campaign, this notion that we're taking the work requirement out of welfare, which every single person here who's looked at it says is patently false, right?"

And - maybe someone on the President's staff is reading DU:

1. About 4000 Yahoo posts on this article in 20 minutes -- amazing!

I just refreshed my Yahoo page and saw this article pop up on top. I clicked on the article and there were nine posts. As I watched that article over the next twenty minutes, it grew to over 4000 posts, almost all of them by right-wing crazies. It was amazing -- as if some central command had ordered every one of the crazy right-wing Yahoo posters to jump on this article and start posting their lies and false accusations -- I assume to drown out any logical discussion... Not that "logical discussion" is what we see much of on Yahoo, of course.

paid or unpaid RW trolls show up to try to turn a story about toddler beauty pageants, trash pickup in Poughkeepsie, or the new quarterback for some NFL team, into an attack on Obama.

comments. Remember how they got started? They'd go t all the town hall meetings and just take over with boisterous comments. They wouldn't even let the speaker get a word in edgewise. The comments in the media are part of that same concerted effort.
