Is everyone just now realizing that what Akin said is the way Republicans believe?

I knew Republicans have felt this way about rape/abortion my entire life. This is not new.

I can remember a conversation with a Republican over 30 years ago who told me this is exactly how they felt about it. The person even went one step further and suggested that women who get abortions actually take pleasure from having an abortion.

When I directly asked flat out, "Do you believe that a woman who has an abortion actually enjoys doing it?"

She said yes they do. That is right. It was a Republican woman who told me that over 30 years ago. A college educated Republican woman told me this.

What Akin said was no surprise to me whatsoever. I knew for decades this is how these sick fuckers think. And not just the men either.

Didn't anyone else know about this? I can't believe I am the only one here who knew this.

Don

I've lived amongst Republicans for most of my life, even back when they were called Dixiecrats.

solely because of the abortion issue. No matter what else is going on in the world, no matter what else the candidate stands for or what he/she plans to do, outlawing abortion is the only thing on their minds when they vote. The GOP is chock full of people whose primary concern in life is what ladies are doing with their hoohahs and baby makers.

But that's not unusual- it takes something like this, or Fukushima, or the Gulf for the true believers in the bland to go "Holy shit...this is serious..."

I'm still waiting for the "event" that will make people go "Holy Shit" about torture, spying and droning.

"from the Dr.'s I've spoken with....."

Dr Falwell isnt THAT type of Doctor.

They dont know shit about science, yet they deny that it is real. They dont know shit about biology, yet they tell women how to manage their bodies. These are the same type of people who said the earth was flat and executed anyone who, using science or observation, argued with them.

These people are not qualified to run the fry machine much less make decisions that affect us all.

They're doing the same BS that the Bush administration called, "Creating Reality."

The facts are irrelevant- they want the power over people, and any excuse will do.

They couldn't be qualified in anything other than lying- they wouldn't be good fascists if they were!

And what many Republicans believe and won't dare to say is that they want a pregnant to be forced to carry the baby to term, no matter how it was "legitimately" or "illegitimately" conceived. Their disclaimer for abortion in cases where the life of the mother is at stake is only added so they don't look like complete savages - otherwise they'd drop that one, too.

It's their solution to ending crime. Decriminalize rape, incest, battering, trafficking and child abuse. It's oppressive to send anyone to prison for doing what comes natural. Welcome to your future under the Republican majority. Just smile and enjoy it, you were asking for it.
