NY institutes $15 minimum wage and they raise the price of my Pizza Slice.

It went from $2.75 to $3 a slice.
I have to pay an extra quarter just so those guys who make my pizza can have a living wage.
Outrageous!
Great pizza, so I will have to bite the bullet and keep buying. But I am only getting 11 slices for the same amount I use to get 12.
The horror!

The longer the Trump Shutdown drags on, the "partial" moves closer to the "full" as government agencies that interact with each other (i.e., all of them) are unable to continue with their jobs because they're waiting for a response from another agency that's shut down and unresponsive to their request for information or assistance or confirmation or whatever.

As those unprocessed I-9 forms pile up, the backlog and the delay will grow two days for every day the Trump Shutdown continues, because the new applications for I-9s doesn't stop, and the old ones just age.

Every NYer knows that the price of a pizza slice is calibrated to the cost of a subway fare, which is going up shortly.

The minimum wage increased from 13 to 15 which is a 15% increase in the wage. Your pizza increased from 2.75 to 3.00 which is an 11.1% increase. Dividing 11.1 by 15 yields .74 which means 74% of your pizza's cost came from labor if that increase were to be justified. I think that is highly unlikely.

I think it's fair to raise the price in this case. (The people who make cheap pizza in NYC are mom and pop joints)

McDonald's in Texas is another story. No minimum wage increase. Prices keep going up.
