told me early on in the shutdown that if it ended a day or two before the 11th (the date of the first missed paycheck) he thought they'd still get paid on time. So maybe just a couple of days, but it probably depends on the specific department/agency and workplace.

(others were earlier this week - e.g., Tuesday). But I think agencies may try to expedite them out next week rather than wait until the next pay day which would be February 8 (February 2nd being the end of the current pay period). At that point, employees would get a normal pay check February 8th and February 16th would be the end of a pay period with a "last" (hypothetical if there is no agreement) check forthcoming on February 22.

On a more positive note - the breaking news is that the Senate just passed the CR bill and it is now headed to the House (for debate and vote) and they expect it to be signed this evening.
