(7,530 posts)right down to the individual dollar instead of "Nearly 19 billion". Careful research, or a numpad fistmash? You decide.
Possibly the same mechanism that somehow added a tenth of a billion to the requested wall funding every time it got reported.

(883 posts)The problem is that when he puts out false info he never gets checked and most people will see that and repeat it. That is why during the election he dominated the media doesn't matter if good or bad. All Publicity is good. The media needs to quit giving him a platform. Shouldn't his twitter account been blocked by now ?

(22,813 posts)he spouts is reported as such. I don't watch TV, so I don't know about TV News, but the Washington Post and the NYT don't let Trump get away with it.

(14,492 posts)two completely isolated spheres of information that people's heads reside in - a left bubble and a right bubble, although us lefties are prone to read a wide variety of sources outside our sphere.
I would bet very few Republicans read sources like NYT, WaPo, and another favorite of mine, The Guardian, that call him out.
Another factor is that conservatives tend to believe whatever their leaders (parents, preachers, politicians) tell them without question while true progressives tend to prefer to confirm the accuracy and sources of their information.
Just saying, I seriously doubt if many Republicans ever see or hear of any fact-checks on Trump.

(22,813 posts)valid journalistic sources is not the fault of the Mainstream Mass Media. I'm getting really tired of people on DU who blame the MSM for everything.

(883 posts)He never gets called out immediately. It is always way later and by that time it does not matter if he does get called out. No bad publicity. That's how he has gotten to where he's at. He dominated the media and he still is. Most people hear the first thing and that is what they believe, they don't check facts, especially when it doesn't fit their narrative.

6 Set over him a wicked man; let an accuser stand at his right hand.
7 When he is tried, let him be found guilty, and may his prayer be regarded as sin.
8 May his days be few; may another take his position.
9 May his children be fatherless and his wife a widow.
10 May his children wander as beggars; may they seek sustenance far from their ruined homes.
11 May the creditor seize all he owns, and strangers plunder the fruits of his labor.
12 May there be none to extend kindness, and no one to favor his fatherless children.
13 May his descendants be cut off; may their name be blotted out from the next generation.
14 May the iniquity of his fathers be remembered before the LORD, and the sin of his mother never be erased.
15 May their sins always remain before the LORD, that He may cut off their memory from the earth.
16 For he never thought to show kindness, but pursued the poor and needy and brokenhearted, even to their death.
17 The cursing he loved, may it fall on him; the blessing he refused to delight in, may it be far from him.
18 The cursing he wore like a coat, may it soak into his body like water, and into his bones like oil.
19 May it be like a robe wrapped about him, like a belt tied forever around him.
20 May this be the LORDs reward to my accusers, to those who speak evil against me.

(14,576 posts)When I prepare and present data, there are some ground rules I follow. First, the data that I've mined must be from a credible source. Second, I must thoroughly understand a) how the data was gathered, b) it's validity and reliability, c) any margins of error that are relevant, and d) exactly what the data is suggesting.
I know, because I present often, and I do get hard questions, which I must answer correctly, because if I don't I risk losing credibility, which I really care about, and have taken years of work to build.
Then this orange piece of shit just pulls stuff out of his ass, spouts it out and MILLIONS of Americans believe it.
Please excuse me while I go to a mountaintop and engage in about an hour of primal screams! But, according to the cartoon below, I will have to watch out for 'jaw lock.'
