(26,044 posts)Remember, Schultz was reportedly on the short list for consideration as HRC's running mate, so I'm assuming he must have had at least a few backers there.

(22,912 posts)Some info from Wiki:
"He was the national press secretary during Obama's first campaign for President.[4]
During the Obama administration, Burton was Deputy White House Press Secretary[5] under Robert Gibbs[6] from January 2009 until February 2011.
He was a co-founder and senior strategist with the Priorities USA Action super PAC".
On Priorities USA Action Super PAC:
"Priorities USA Action is the largest Democratic Party super PAC. Founded in 2011, it supported Barack Obama's 2012 re-election campaign. It was the primary super PAC supporting Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign. It focused mainly on high-dollar donors. As of September 2016, it had amassed $132 million in support of Clinton. The top six donors to the super PAC have given $43.5 million, which is a third of the money collected by Priorities USA Action in the 2016 election cycle.[1] The super PAC raised $21.7 million in August 2016, marking its largest monthly fundraising haul.[1] "

Uninformed and amateurish: Turncoat Bill Burton slammed for pushing Howard Schultz spoiler bid on MSNBC
Anchor Chuck Todd pressed Burton on a 2016 column he wrote slamming third-party candidates for potentially electing Donald Trump and the lack of Schultz having any record of engaging in political ballot campaigns in the past.
Trump bragged about goading Schultz into the race to help him get reelected despite his dismal poll support.
