Pompeo to announce Friday that US will suspend participation in an arms control treaty with Russia

US expected to announce US suspension of landmark INF arms control treaty

(CNN)Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is expected to announce Friday that the US will suspend participation in an arms control treaty with Russia that has been a centerpiece of European security since the Cold War, according to two US officials and multiple diplomatic sources familiar with the matter.

President Donald Trump and his senior officials have been signaling for months that they are ready to pull out of the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty, which the US and Europe accuses Moscow of violating since 2014.

The suspension raises concerns about a renewed arms race with Moscow and has put European allies on edge.

It starts a 180-day clock to complete withdrawal unless Russia returns to compliance with the 1987 agreement.

I mean in terms of official actions and non-actions. I just threw 8 out there. It's probably like the 80th time they officially made it obvious who they work for.

Their economy is the size of Italy and their military budget is 1/10 of ours. They can't "pull ahead of us now"....

BTW how does that help anyone? If we can kill everyone 15 times over and they can kill everyone 20 times over what difference does that make?

Does Putin want this so he can freely expand his INF??? That is what I get out of this, and that explains why drumpf would do it.

Subservient client state of Russia. Did the great deal maker get anything (besides a pat on the head) in return for placing us in grave risk?
