The horrible topic is, of course, NORTHAM, and STELTER first flubbed by saying to DEAN, "You who have been in this position before," to which smart-as-a-whip DEAN said, "First of all I have *NOT* been in NORTHAM's position." The other dude said, "I meant as a *governor*."
So when the discussion flowed to how differently Dems and Repukes handle racism, DEAN launched his zinger (in the thread Subject line) - haha!1
***********I'm going to say at this late date, after all these years of Howard DEAN as a surrogate, that back when he was a candidate I never trashed him in favor of my own choice of a candidate, but I did dismiss and ignore him and regarded the "Deaniacs" as being the usual alternative faddists. And now I have come to admire Howard DEAN.
******ON EDIT: To be clear, when I say NOW I have come to admire him, I mean over the past many years, not just right this moment. And I've often wondered why he has appeared to have been kept at something of a Jimmy CARTER arm's length by our Dem hierarchy.
