At the present time, it appears that Gov. Northam can't work with any of the other Democrats in the VA Government.

Justin Fairfax, if he were to succeed Northam would likely find himself in the same situation.

The Herring situation is too recent to make an assessment.

Many answers, some predicated on each other, while others are wholly independent.

I'd imagine any one, comprehensive answer would fill a series of books to make Will and Ariel Durant jealous; and the process is to judge each individual on their own merits, their own actions, their own words and their own records rather than predicating an absolute outcome on simply choosing from A), B), C) or D).

That's the best answer I've read on the matter. And this is key:

Excellent point.

or perhaps some pill that directs inflammatory information for rigorous cognitive processing before proceeding to emotional reaction?

Or are you just assuming that individuals should live up to the long-established principles of justice that we would all expect to apply to ourselves?

If the latter, I'd add context to the list. Because it could matter. No politician is an island.

Of course the people that didn't vote for your hypothetical 'someone' would like them to resign. That only makes sense, and should be disregarded.

But, when the majority of the people that did vote for that hypothetical someone, want them to resign, I think the right thing for them to do...would be to resign.
