During the first campaign and during his time in office.
Any time he was shown on the air, it was cut very short. They would show clips but not include his voice, and paraphrase. They were obviously trying to silence him.
Contrast that with today and the many long months leading up to the disaster of our 2016 election. Any channel, any broadcast, there was Individual 1 with his whole bloviating incoherent blather pipelined right in to our living rooms.
People will say turn it off then, which of course I did then and still do.
That doesnt change the fact that the media wanted him to be heard and wanted to silence President Obama. They didnt want us to hear him and they pressure wash us with the goo coming out of this Individual constantly.
Just a few highlights offered below, to remind us we can do so much better than this.
Figured that out years ago.

(17,651 posts)The unstated reason was always all their air time is so important so so important you know people wouldve been riveted to President Obama speeches. He lifted us they would lift the Republicans too. They were terrified of people hearing him and thinking about what he said.

(38,958 posts)The 24/7 Breaking Noise Infotainment is simply to fill air time between ads for drugs that we never knew we needed. They occasionally brush up against journalism, but mostly its just screeching opinions or the same story reported ad nauseum.
