Has anyone here read or seen a production of The Crucible?

I've been trying to understand how I'm feeling about where we are as a country these days and this play keeps popping in my head.
My introduction to this American staple came when I was cast as Ezekiel Cheever in a community theater group. As was my practice, I didn't just learn my lines, I read as much as I could find about the basis of the play it's author and the foundation for his presentation but most importantly the proverbial, moral of the story.
In the end it was all about hysteria and manipulation, and that's where we are today.
It saddens me to see and hear so many otherwise good and decent people be so willing to ruin another person, their families and children based on an accusation.
Hysteria. That's what it feels like to me. Now I wonder if I'm also right about the manipulation.

...it really does feel like a staging of the Crucible. It is hysteria! With apologies to Willie Loman the Crucible is Arthur Miller's best work.
