It needs to be understood that Republicans brought the "illegals" into the US for exploitable labor and to break unions. They refused to make them legal because then their strategy wouldn't have worked - and now they want to treat them like dirt for political advantage.

Though the normalization by Reagan & @GOP was to legalize millions already working in construction, agri & hotels for wealthy Americans like @realDonaldTrump.

They lost most of their power during the anti-union actions of the 1980s.
