Michael Cohen talked of bid for New York mayor: report
Trump's former personal attorney, Michael Cohen, previously aspired to run for New York City mayor or a statewide office, The Washington Post reported Saturday.
Two former aides to the Trump campaign told the newspaper that Cohen raised the prospect of a mayoral run several years ago, reasoning that he could win if Trump was governor of New York. Cohen reportedly enlisted a group of strategists in 2013 to plan for a possible Trump gubernatorial campaign.
While Trump ultimately decided against running against Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D), former Trump campaign adviser Michael Caputo told the Post that Cohen would repeatedly bring up the idea of a Trump-Cohen ticket or a mayoral campaign.
"I didnt want to disabuse him of it, because he was our liaison," Caputo said. "I felt like, Yeah, okay Michael."

I don't think he would have gotten anywhere in New York politics with the stink of Trump on him.
