Mark Warner is breaking with Richard Burr's assessment on the state of the Senate Intel Committee's Russia probe."I'm not going to reach any conclusion until we finish the investigation. And we still have a number of the key witnesses to come back."

Sen. Mark Warner, the top Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, rejected Republican Chairman Richard Burr's recent statements that the committee has not found evidence of collusion, saying the investigation is still ongoing and the committee still had to interview key witnesses.
"Respectfully, I disagree," Warner said Tuesday. "I'm not going to get into any conclusions I've reached because my basis of this has been that I'm not going to reach any conclusion until we finish the investigation. And we still have a number of the key witnesses to come back."
Warner's comments represented a rare public split for the leaders of the Senate Intelligence Committee, which has been the only congressional panel that has kept its investigation into Russia's 2016 election meddling on a bipartisan track.

(3,344 posts)John Brennan was just on MSNBC saying the committee does NOT have access to what Mueller has.
And something funny: Nicole Wallace has completely ignored Ken's dumb story, even though it is an NBC story!

(4,341 posts)Warner was very polite in his dismissal of Burr's comments.
When you have someone deny the same thing with so much fury like the orange buffoon has and continues to do, you know the buffoon is not only trying to convince himself and his base of no conspiracy, he is trying to make it go away, I believe he thinks that if he says it enough times that it will disappear.
Democrats need to banish the word "collusion" and start using "conspiracy" instead. I propose that DU eliminates the word "collusion" and start calling it for what it really is...also, they both mean the same, but the buffoon wants to hear collusion because in his little brain it doesn't sound so close to treason.

(2,187 posts)And I am disappointed in Richard Burr. I thought of him as a little above party politics.

(135,831 posts)The republicans on that committee found exactly what they were looking for: nothing.
Republicans completely controlled the House & Senate investigations.

The question is going to be exactly how far into business as usual are they going to investigate. Citizens United has so blurred the line between ethical and leagal. That could easily explain the difference between Burr and Warner looking at exactly the same facts and coming to very different conclusions.
It will boil down to foreign bribes versus domestic bribes.
