Years ago, I went to an anti-war protest here and met a sweet old lady who was talking about how LaRouche was a FDR Democrat and someone who was progressive like myself would love to support. I was young and dumb (still in high school) and bought her line hook, line and sinker. I took home some pamphlets and then signed up for their mailing list, including my phone number (well, my grandma's).

I went home that night and told my grandma about who I had met and she pulled be aside and told me the whole history of LaRouche. Even laughed and said she was surprised he wasn't still in jail. I knew I had goofed but no harm, right?

A week passes and I get a phone call from the LaRouchites telling me they're meeting in my neighborhood and I should come. I politely tell them I am not interested and to stop calling.

THEY CALLED MY HOUSE EVERY WEEK FOR THE NEXT LIKE FIVE YEARS.

I told them OVER and OVER again to remove my number and they said they would ... but they never did.

Eventually, I moved out and my poor grandmother started getting those calls.

Fucking crazy assholes.

The last time I remember interacting with any of 'em was outside a supermarket when Obama was president and they were comparing him to Hitler.
