Former Attorney General Jeff Sessions regularly and casually used shocking racist sentiments while serving in President Donald Trump's cabinet, according to a new book written by former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe.
In his memoir titled The Threat McCabe paints a picture of an attorney general who struggled to understand the workings of government, was unable to stay on top of his busy schedule and blamed almost all the countrys problems on immigration, Washington Post reporter Greg Miller wrote in his review of the book.
In one particularly shocking exchange, Sessions reportedly told McCabe the FBI was a better organization when you all only hired Irishmen. Drawing on archaic and offensive stereotypes, he clarified, They were drunks but they could be trusted. Not like all those new people with nose rings and tattoos who knows what theyre doing?
The Irish Department of Foreign Affairs did not immediately respond to Newsweeks request for comment on the reports.

(10,136 posts)Actually, i think diversity within the FBI is relatively recent in its history. Before the 1980s it was mainly WASP males; come to think of it, that's Jeff's kind of folks.
Fun trivia: my high school American History teacher left the convent c. 1970 and became one of the first female FBI agents.
