I think it was more like $5 for a heart. Except you got one yourself just for buying a star too.

Then some of the hearts had messages like those candies. When I got one that said "evil DUer" I was not sure that was a compliment.

Then again, it is a good thing to be "the excrement".

Since they are anonymous, you never know (or at least I don't) if I got a heart because somebody said "hfojvt my friend (don't you start away uneasy)" or "there's a pathetic sap with no hearts, I will give him one".

Then too, I would generally search for somebody to give to who was NOT going to be a coals to Newcastle. Like, you know, giving H2Oman his 42nd heart. Instead I would look for somebody who only had two or three. Somebody that I truly did like, mind you, and not just some random DUer.

For example, I really do enjoy reading all the posts from MineralMan but he didn't need another heart. There are some DUers who I read all the time and sometimes mine was only their 2nd or 3rd. Sometimes they didn't have one yet. You never really know.

I don't remember them costing $5, that was kind of a lot.

like 6 for $25 and 15 for $50

I know I donated a little more to get a few more hearts to give away.

gesture is very nice and also the donations keeps this site going. It's very "heartwarming" to give someone a little love and it makes people happy.

When's the next holiday??? how about giving out "green shamrocks" for St Patrick's Day just an idea.
