(39,374 posts)Nothing against Ohio, theyre not going anywhere. There will be no 2nd HQ2. Meantime, whats to be gained by Democrats sucking up to them as hard as they can?

(11,477 posts)pathetic is is a certain woman senator who voted many times against her party and was rewarded as a talk show pundit! Now thats pathetic!!!!!!

(12,368 posts)Clare does have a complacency trail in her past, I agree...Today, we are loosing Democracy....She has offered insight into the Senate deception presently...I want to find some one or some group willing to lead the fight to confront this corruption and hostile GOP/trump gang.....maybe someone will lead the masses...Essentially, I believe the Democratic Congress has felt the impact of their complacency....

(11,477 posts)we should compromise with trump and I think to myself🤔 oh yeah just like they did for Obama. No cant do that anymore your either with us or against us works just fine with me these days! Its served the republicans well!

(11,477 posts)Tim Ryan has the bad stigma just like Hillary did. Tim Ryan has been doing everything possible to bring jobs back her in Ohio!
Unlike Kasich...Tims been fighting to get TJMaxx warehouse and GM Lordstown all the way!!! Just this past few months weve lost Kmart, Dillards, all jobs that employed lots of people in N.E. Ohio and Tim Ryan has been the Democratic foot soldier to fight for us. Maybe he might not be ready to be president but if Kashich can run Id take Tim Ryan anyday!

(18,770 posts)...because, if you did, Amazon would do the same thing the moment ANYONE asked constructive questions. You'd be effed as quick as NY was.
This was a moment for Amazon to show TRUE Patriotism and also an appreciation for the community that would be helping it make money.
Instead, they took their ball home. Amazon, this is coming from a fan, as Alexa runs my home. But there are other AI's, FYI...

(18,628 posts)Hands in pockets so far because it's cold at the Warren OH Courthouse Square. I like my congressman and at least he doesn't have his hand in my pocket. Tim Ryan has steered more federal money into the Mahoning Valley than any rep in my long life.
Having said that, I wish he'd continue to focus more on local politics than a failed run for the WH. Maybe he can take Rob Portman out of the senate.
Me.

'Democrats can't love jobs and hate the people who create them.' John Kerry.

(4,960 posts)They were going to split the facility between VA and NY. The demand for almost $3 billion for NY seems excessive considering what they agreed to for the same size facility and same "promised" number of jobs in VA.
Maybe Ohio can counter with a $573 million subsidized incentive and throw in Bezos heliport for free! Good Luck Ohio!

(32,974 posts)The largest towns are Youngstown on the east and Akron on the west sides. There isn't a large enough airport for rapid shipping, the roads are
not in good repair , the internet connections are not there for secure high speed connections. What it does have is alot of desperate people who want jobs.

This district is one of 108 congressional districts that intersects with one or more Pivot Counties. These 206 Pivot Counties voted for Donald Trump (R) in 2016 after voting for Barack Obama (D) in 2008 and 2012.
I can understand his statement.

(41,132 posts)tried, like many other suitable non coastal cities. The 2- coast economy we have is unbalanced, Ohio and other states need the jobs, not the two largest, wealthiest cities on the East Coast!
