Trump considers Ivanka for UN ambassador after he said he wouldn't

By Emily Singer - February 18, 2019

The Trump White House is thinking of nominating Ivanka Trump for U.N. ambassador — backtracking on a claim that he wouldn't pick his favorite child for the job.

Another broken promise from the Trump administration.

After saying back in October that he wouldn’t nominate first daughter Ivanka Trump as U.N. ambassador over “nepotism” concerns, Trump is now reportedly considering appointing his clothing designer scion to the important diplomatic role, according to Bloomberg News.

The news comes after Trump’s last U.N. ambassador nominee, Heather Nauert, withdrew her nomination after a background check revealed that she employed a nanny who wasn’t legally allowed to work in the U.S.

Of course, hinging her withdrawal solely on that would be odd, given that the Trump Organization knowingly hired undocumented workers for years. If Nauert is not fit to serve, then neither are Trump or his daughter Ivanka, for that matter.

Maybe the traitor didn't see what Angela Merkle did, and what she did to his daughter, when she and Pence was over in Germany ...................basically telling her father and her that they are full of "tariff" shit......................when it comes to cars being made in South Carolina.........................and she had that dumb shit traitors daughter's look on her face, that blank stare, and he wants her to be a UN ambassador..................

That seems unwise in the extreme, Trumpturds, no matter how brief that confirmation hearing is.

Can they (McConnell/GOP) force a confirmation through without any questioning, i.e. just a vote?

Nobody in the international community has any respect for her. Don't you have to have some kind of qualifications to be a UN ambassador? I mean, besides being a fashion designer?

He can't be bothered to come up with a list of names for the position and have them vetted by the intelligence folks. He nominated Nauert because she was on the teevee. He announced her name before anyone could look into her record and find any number of disqualifying facts, chief among them being a complete lack of experience. But, okay, we'll let her say it's her family if that makes her feel better about withdrawing, instead of bringing up the whole nanny thing.

Now, having been deprived of his teevee choice, Trump doesn't know anything about the State Department, so he's falling back on what he does know: his family. Did he say a few months ago that he wasn't going to consider Ivanka? Well, who cares? Why would anyone listen to or trust what Trump says? He doesn't. And who said anything about nepotism? Because it's not, and anyone who says it is is just stupid. At least, that's what Trump will say, and the Fox commenters will turn on a dime from "Four Legs Good, Two Legs Bad" to "Four Legs Good, Two Legs Better," and nobody will think a thing of it.

But I’m still surprised that an illegal nanny is enough to get you knocked off one of these jobs.

What he'd like to do is divorce Melania and move Ivanka (sans Jared) into the WH, but Putin hasn't told him to do it yet.

Appointing Ivanka to the UN is just another step in Putin's master plan to diminish America's standing on the world stage.

Many, including Nikki Haley, don't want to work for him while others he'd consider are in legal jeopardy. Jared has nine other official jobs but Ivanka wasn't been charged with anything. Yet.
