He hasn't yet, and more than one person who used to be affiliated with him is now in jail. Others are under indictment and awaiting trial.
My personal take is that Trump considers anyone who got caught is a loser and doesn't deserve a pardon. He might possibly behave differently if one of his children is indicted, but so far, no pardons. Keep in mind that he always thinks he is the smartest person in the room, and so of course won't be indicted, or even named as "unindicted co-conspirator".
I am making no predictions about how his Presidency will end. Soon, I hope, but he's got every Republican in Congress as an enabler. Also, keep in mind that as incompetent, mean, and dangerous as he is, with Trump in office they are getting so much of what they want: gutting of agencies, rolling back of rules and regulations, young conservative judges getting lifetime appointments. So much damage has already been done that this country is never going to recover, certainly not in the next four or five decades. Meanwhile, military spending goes up while spending for infrastructure or basic social services declines. Taxes on the rich go down while those of middle income pay more and more. It's a snowball that is well on its way downhill, gathering speed, picking up more and more snow, until it's large enough to trigger the avalanche that will bury us all.

A pardon is much more effective if dangled over the recipient until the last days of the presidency.
That said, I agree that Donnie certainly is the type to promise a pardon and then renege on the deal....

(26,060 posts)So your first sentence is out of ignorance. He pardoned Arpaio, that clown D'Souza, those repulsive traitors out west that want to kill federal agents. 6 pardons, 3 commutations. Here's where you can get educated.

I won't correct my original post, unless more people point this out.

(3,396 posts)A presidential pardon doesnt exempt someone from prosecution at the state level.

(56,828 posts)my guess is that Trump is waiting for the right time to do it - maybe after Barr puts the kibosh on Mueller?

(9,213 posts)delivered notice to the White House that Trump cannot pardon people if he is listed as a co-conspirator in the case, which would explain why people have seen them yet none have gone through.

(56,828 posts)I had not heard those rumors

(9,213 posts)and said they were fake, blah blah blah, but it does seem plausible. More likely than Trump NOT trying to pardon his buddies, and the reasoning makes sense and stuff. crossing fingers still lol.

(25,183 posts)already handed out by Trump. The Arpaio one particularly sticks out with me.
Trump does look at others as his lessers, but he does reward loyalty. His family will surely be getting pardons on his last day in office, and I figure that depending on what Flynn and Manifort have said, they will be getting them, too.
Cohen, on the other hand, will not.
