A small point we should not overlook...

Two or three days ago, the story broke that the Special Counsel report was imminent. Mueller was nearing the end of his investigation.

The story gained momentum in the press. Most folks believed it was credible.

But yesterday, some "senior official" in the DOJ made the announcement that the investigation would not be over next week.

Obviously, the story that the Special Counsel report was imminent did not come from the Special Counsel office. So, where did it originate?

Did it come from the new Attorney General, William Barr? Or was he ordered to move by Donald Trump? Since we can assume that the story never came from the OSC, those would be the likely culprits.

Why is it important?

Because it shows that there is external pressure being put on the Special Counsel to finish his investigation. Barr, in his hearing, said he would not interfere.

There is more investigating to be done.

My guess is someone on the Trump team - perhaps Rudy Guiliani? You know, like pressure was put on James Comey from the NY FBI field office to reopen the bogus Clinton email case. I believe you are right about external pressure; and I think it leads back to Trump.
