JUST IN: Judge confirms the Special Counsel's sentencing memo for Paul Manafort was filed under seal on Friday. The prosecutors now must make a redacted version, with exhibits, available on the public docket. They have not yet done so https://cnn.it/2E1dk0Y

(25,111 posts)Barr is sincerely helping t-rump, prior thereto.
I feel less safe with Barr as head of the DOJ.

(14,923 posts)The motion was filed, and while it is sealed right now it will eventually become public unless there are nat sec reasons to not do so.
Muehler has been redacting motions only because they are linked to other proceedings not yet public.
Barr has zero ability to keep a sealed indictment from being made publlic. Once the judge believes the reason for redaction are no longer valid, they will release the documents. Even if manafort is pardoned, it doesn't mean the documents go away.
The court doesn't work that way. Remember, a pardon doesn't mean innocent - it means you can't be incarcerated. You are still a convicted felon. Any charging documents still stand.

(12,618 posts)or that the final report will be a let down. Mueller clearly has found tons of things he doesn't want getting out at this point. And if there was nothing to be found, this would have been wrapped up a long time ago. Donald Trump is screwed. I know we all want it done yesterday, but the reality is there's a long way to go.
But in the end, Trump is going down, and so is his family, and so is his business empire.

(12,618 posts)But in the long run, the whole right wing movement is going to be very badly damaged from Trump, to the point where it may never recover, at least not in its present form. The Republican Party consist of a demographic that is old and growing older all the time. Eventually they will die out, and Trump will be the last thing that millennials remember about them as they become the dominant political bloc. That's not going to be a good thing for the GOP in the long run.
