Black Panther is going to win Best Picture, the female Period won, a Mexican won best foreign picture, Lady Gaga now wins.

He should have won the Oscar for "Malcolm X." It was brilliant. So was Denzel. And he should have won Best Actor for his portrayal. I am old enough to have seen Malcolm X in real time. He was an electrifying speaker. His "The Ballot or The Bullet" speech still makes me sit up straight up. Denzel had his speech patterns, his cadence, his patois DOWN COLD. If you closed your eyes . . .

Congratulations Spike. It's well-deserved.

But never got to see him in real time. The life transformation that he went through was well defined in his book, from a guy on drugs to a philosopher that had an innate understanding of how society worked and how it could be fixed.

and watch/listen to his "The Ballot or The Bullet" speech. BRILLIANT. Even though it's been over 50 years since he delivered it (in Chicago) it is STILL as relevant today as it was then.

I promise you, you'll NOT be disappointed.

All the reviews I saw said it was really poorly written. So it seems like it might have been more of a challenge considering that.
