Edited to say:
He can't deny he posted this. He just confirmed to a reporter that he did it.
Me: Congressman, Any chance you have a few minutes to discuss what you implied with your tweet to Michael Cohen? Perhaps a preview?
Gaetz: Watch tomorrow.
Me: Will do -- anything I should be prepared for?
Gaetz: Fireworks

UPDATE:
Me: Any response to those who say youre witness tampering?
@mattgaetz: Im witness testing. We still are allowed to test the veracity and character of witnesses, I think.
Me: So you disagree with those who say youre witness tampering?
Gaetz: Yes.

Hey @MichaelCohen212 - Do your wife & father-in-law know about your girlfriends? Maybe tonight would be a good time for that chat. I wonder if shell remain faithful when youre in prison. Shes about to learn a lot...

/2 It sure seems like you're threatening Michael Cohen that if he testifies before Congress you, or people aligned with you, will bring out embarrassing details about him.

/3 There's a whole bunch of obstruction statutes, sir, and if you're threatening to reveal embarrassing information to deter a witness from testifying before Congress, I think you need advice about whether you may be violating one or more of them. https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/1505

/4 The United States Department of Justice seems to take those obstruction laws rather seriously, and know a lot about them.

/5 You may try to invoke the Speech and Debate Clause, citing you Twitter account as an official act. Ask your lawyers about that; I hope you're not relying on it.

distracting from extremely serious national issues with Cohens marital infidelities.
Scummy Republican. Hes new to congress, one of those who came to power when Russia and our own subverted idiots bombed Hillarys coattails along with her.

(959 posts)from DUMP! Dump thinks because he's out of the country (wonder how much work it was to coordinate this trip with the testimony in DC) he won't be suspect in the proceedings. But Gaetz is a putz; he got whatever he thinks he's got from Dump. Obstruction and witness tampering in plain sight.

(33,047 posts)From his wiki..."Drunk driving arrest and speeding tickets
Edit
In 2008, Gaetz was arrested for a DUI as he was driving back from the Swamp, a nightclub on Okaloosa Island, Florida. While he was arrested and refused to take a breathalyzer test, "he didn't have his license suspended for a year when he refused the breath testas Florida law dictates. And he didn't have that refusal used against him in a criminal proceeding." Charges against him were dismissed despite the fact that the police reported that "Gaetz fumbled for his license and registration, his eyes were watery and bloodshot, and he swayed and staggered when he got out of the car." Gaetz has cited the dropped charges as proof that he was innocent.[74]
Between 1999 and 2014, Gaetz received 16 speeding tickets in Florida.[75]"
