Take a moment to note

that today’s hearing will go down in US history forever. It will be a pivotal moment in the direction of our future. Michael Cohn is now an iconic figure and may well be remembered as the witness who brought Trump’s presidency down. That still remains to be seen.

We are witnesses to history, just like the Nixon hearings, the violence of the Civil Rights struggle, the assassinations of John Kennedy, MLK Jr. and Bobby Kennedy, the Kent State killings, the anti Vietnam war riots, the Trump era and close call on the destruction of our Constitution.

It’s a privilege if you think about it.

But I have never been so worried for the future of our country. Howard Baker and his ilk asked questions, they didn't just spend most of their time berating the witness as a traitor.

The Nixon hearings were just as worrisome while they happened. His resignation shocked and surprised the hell out of everyone. I clearly recall how divided the country was at the time. He had just won his election in a landslide.

Gerald Ford’s pardon created havoc among the US citizens. The deep divisions are still having repercussions. But no one remembers much about the questioners other than the iconic James Baker question, “What did the President know, and when did he know it?”

History needs to unfold quite a bit before we’ll know how this goes down.

every voter, from every state, to remember the rethugs and their disdain for truth when all this is finally known. I am sick to my stomach with some of the things I heard - the guy from Louisiana, the guy from Ohio, the woman from W. Virginia. I was listening on the radio, so names don't mean anything to me - just the awful way they snarled at him while holding the dotard up as a freaking paragon.

I have to keep telling myself I don't want to hate...

I may not survive this.

Many of those screeching at Cohn in feigned outrage may be voted right out of relevance in the next elections. Remember the House has elections every two years.

Hang in there. It’s going to take years.

This is the second time the Republican Party is shown to be corrupt to the core. First with Nixon and now with Trump. The party won’t survive this. It’s a yoke around their collective necks.

I will think of Michael Cohen the way I think of John Dean today.

He's a slimy piece of shit.

In reality he may have given that one important fact, whatever it may be, that will lead to Trump’s final and complete demise as a relevant individual.
