“Now we know why Jared Kushner still has a security clearance: Trump allegedly ordered it despite the red flags raised by the CIA and FBI and White House lawyers. Career security clearance professionals believed Jared Kushner was enough of a national security risk that he should not get a top secret clearance.

And now I have a message for our national security, defense and intelligence community: Do not share top secret information with Jared Kushner. Trust the career professionals. Do the right thing. Your loyalty is to America, not to Kushner or Trump."

Unfortunately at present, Trump has the authority to grant clearance to anyone he wishes. Kushner will continue to receive classified information until he, Trump, or both are ejected from the White House.

he can argue the security clearance was granted. This doesn't make me happy in the least, but I do think it's critical to remain realistic when we look at these things. You're talking about a legal remedy. That requires rather extensive evidence. We're going to have to be very precise and waterproof in our approach to the removal of Trump Inc.™

The pressure to remove Prince Jared's clearance right now will have to be political, and I believe there is a good chance that could be successful.

Until Carl Klein was appointed apparently just to give him clearance over everyone's head. Lawrence O'Donnell was just reporting on this and showed footage of Trump lying when he was asked about this by reporters. He said he wasn't involved and didn't think he'd "have the authority" to do that anyway.
