Cost of the failed summit

PRESIDENT TRUMP
Failed 2nd N. Korea Summit
COST TAXPAYERS OVER $1.3 MILLION
EXCLUSIVE

President Trump finally made it to Vietnam -- but he did it using a ton of taxpayer dollars ... and got a whole lot of nothin' out of it from North Korea.

TMZ did some digging on the cost of Trump's second summit with Kim Jong-un in Hanoi, and turns out it was at least $1.3 million ... much of which went toward putting Americans up for a couple of nights and making sure they were cozy.

According to federal procurement docs -- obtained by TMZ -- lodging alone for Trump and co. during the two-day summit -- which wrapped Thursday without a deal on nukes or sanctions -- ran Uncle Sam upwards of $632k between 3 hotels and miscellaneous costs.

The State Dept. foot the majority of that lodging bill, including a separate $157k for lodging at the Melia Hanoi Hotel -- where Kim Jong-un stayed and where the American press corp was staying as well ... before getting booted by Kim's camp.

According to reports, Kim became uneasy with the American press in such close proximity ... so they were ultimately moved to a new hotel.

But, wait ... there's more!!!

The conference rooms alone where Trump and Kim couldn't come to terms cost $316k, and things like lights, stereo systems, drapes and awnings ran about $100k all together. The Dept. of Defense dropped about $60k for leased internet lines.

There's more money that was spent as well ... with zero results.

We used to hear important world news - an earthquake in Japan, a tsunami in Indonesia, the latest from the Middle East. Now it's the Trump Show 24/7, every time he opens his lying mouth it's breaking news!

Trump being the reality star that he supposedly was knew very well how to exploit the corporate Infotainment that is Cable News. It was down to “Breaking News.... Donald Trump eats a cheese sandwich.” Followed by 4 talking heads offering their “informed opinion” on the type of sandwich it might have been for 3 news cycles.

I have turned off all the cable news, not because it is fake, but because it is drivel.

13. Making money is important but is secondary with the M$M.

The M$M is complicit providing the corporate, right wing narratives. The main narrative that it has been pushing for a long time is that there is no collusion. Of course there has been collusion, it has already been proven, but does said collusion rise to the levels of being proven criminal?

American oligarchs own and control cable news, Murdoch is Australian, and they don't give a damn if America loses its democracy. Democracy was created to give the little guy a voice, to protect the little guy, to protect our planet, American oligarchs don't give a shit about any of that. It is not about Infotainment, it is much more serious than that.

are intertwined, hence the Corporate (or RW if you will) narrative. So one is about the other. It is very difficult to separate them.

I do very much get your point, but I just don't see them as being able to be separated.

I would hazard a guess that the overall costs of that trip would be a real shocker, when those of several high-security air flights, secret service, makeup and hair services, and Trump's hamberger chef are included......

Any deal that Trump would sign would be far more costly than a mere 1.3 million.

I read somewhere that during the summit KGOP republican Comrade Dirty Donny* surrendered this annual military preparedness exercise. Just what russia and North Korea wanted. In return, I believe, NK gave up nothing. It was a total republican surrender of US preparedness.

I'll keep my eye peeled for valid news story on this, with a link

US and South Korea end military exercises that riled North Korea

"U.S. and South Korean officials announced Saturday that they will end longtime military exercises that had riled North Korean leader Kim Jong Un’s regime and drawn criticism from President Donald Trump, replacing them with smaller operations..."

The summit was a dud, the clown is in way over his head and doesn’t know it, but that is what it costs to move any president to a foreign location.

Point being, the cost is the wrong target.
