Many here may not agree, we need Trumps incompetence, corruption to set off an economic recession,

Now! That would destroy him. It would help to get him impeached because he would lose support. I am convinced Trumps incompetence and corruption will set off an economic recession, I don't want it to happen after the 2020 election. I want it to happen now.

I do not want a repeat of the Bush years were he destroyed the economy as he left the Whitehouse. Obama had to fix all the damage Bush did. Fuck that bullshit , no more.

Anything done to the economy takes 4 to 8 years to affect a change in the US. Though rapid communication has increased the speed at which change ripples through.

While Presidents take credit or blame, they usually don't have as much to do with it as people think.

Plus, given that the stock market has gone up some 8,000 points since Trump was elected, despite frantic predictions back in November 2016 that it would totally tank, you shouldn't count on it.

Dotard may destroy a lot more futures and lives and may even destroy our republican form of government. I'm not sure he can, but those who think so would not think temporary economic pain worse.

It may still take a few years to get there, but the tax changes they enacted into law last year make an economic collapse inevitable. It could be way worse than the Bush recession was. The other thing that worries me is that it will all implode after the next blue wave happens and the blame will unjustly be laid at the feet of Democrats.

That's why the tweets are always blaming Dems for Trump's actions, and the GOP sycophants take up the Twitter mantra immediately.

This has always been the Republican strategy of choice.

...if it's gonna happen, it should happen under Trump and not under a Democrat for exactly the reasons you stated. An economic recession will hurt me and my family as much as anyone, but if this is what it takes to wake so many of the Trump supporting idiots up, then so it should be. The long term good that would come out of it would far outweigh any of the short term economic effects we'd suffer. Personally, while me and my family have something significant to lose again in another stock market crash, I hope the stock market tanks soon tanks under Trump because that would send a fucking jolt through Trump World like nothing else would. I would love to sacrifice some stock market money if it meant disaster for Trump World and a better future for our country.

Notably, the last time we had records set on the markets and UE this low was back in 1998-99. Greenspan pushed rates all the way to 6.5% pushing the economy into a recession in time for the 2000 presidential election.

Today, we have the same conditions, but rates are at 2.5%. Also, unlike 1998-99, the federal deficit/debt grows every day, but rates are still in stimulus territory. Methinks that Powell and the Fed will keep rates low through the 2020 presidential election and then hike them like crazy no matter who wins.

There is a recession, or worse, coming. It is inevitable and in fact it is overdue. Knowing that, and hoping it comes soon enough to rid us of the mango mussolini is not the equivalent of rooting for some creative destruction because it would be lovely.

I thought it was only the pukes who were incapable of nuance.
