Roger Stone suggests Robert Mueller 'framed' him in Instagram post that could violate gag order

Roger Stone on Sunday suggested he has been "framed" by special counsel Robert Mueller in an Instagram post that appeared to run afoul of a judge's barely week-old gag order barring President Donald Trump's longtime friend from criticizing the prosecutors in the criminal case against him.

Stone deleted the only image in that multi-image post that included "Who framed Roger Stone" language shortly after CNBC emailed his lawyer to ask about it.

Stone's post was put online less than 48 hours after the judge, Amy Berman Jackson, ordered lawyers for the admitted Republican "dirty trickster" to explain why they did not tell her earlier about the planned publication of a book by Stone that could violate her gag order on him.

Stone announced on Instagram in January that he was coming out with the book, "The Myth of Russian Collusion: The Inside Story of How Trump Really Won."

In her gag order in U.S District Court in Washington, D.C., Jackson barred Stone from "making statements to the media or in public settings about the Special Counsel's investigation or this case or any of the participants in the investigation or the case."

The gag extends to "posts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or any other form of social media." If Stone violates the order, Jackson could order him jailed without bail until his trial.

The judge has been trying to go relatively easy on his bail, in part to protect on appeal her decisions. She doesn’t want an appeals court to find she was too hard on him. Also gag orders have a somewhat limited legal basis.

But Roger is doing exactly the wrong thing— he’s repeatedly violating the judge’s progressively stronger orders.

This is exactly the way Stone could land himself in jail with a strong legal basis for that jailing order.

Too bad for Roger. Couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy.

These past 2 years with Trump, the complicit Republicans and the subsidiary cast of crazies (like Stone) have seen the steady, deliberate destruction of the rule of law in the USA. This Judge needs to stand up and be counted. Now.

I don't know why but something doesn't smell right. Being in jail now rather than later won't affect whether he's pardoned or not since there's no conviction. My only thought is he's manipulating the court as a way to promote the book and/or create some propaganda to manipulate his base. I mean, that's all he's got left.

So far, Berman-Jackson has bent over backwards to not do anything that would cause her to recuse herself. But Stone has been pushing the envelope over and over again.

At some point, she's going to have to slap him. Hard.

So, like you, I can't help but wonder what he's plotting.

I'm neither a lawyer nor a judge, so I don't know all of the rules of recusal (Any legal eagles on DU care to jump in here ?), but I would put NOTHING past this bottom-feeder and his equally low-life attorneys to try. They do NOT want to try this case in front of Amy Berman-Jackson.

Or this style of arrogance of the indicted will flourish to many others after getting indicted. She warned him and he again ignored her warnings. She now has to keep her word and put him in jail asap, or he'll keep escalating things. Stone's pissed because they have so much on him , and Corsi is flipping on him too, with others, and he knows he's in deep trouble now. Stone like trump is now desperate, so they do this, and talk out claiming made of things for his followers to use, and is well aware of the power of persuasion . They both are corrupt serial liars who are also con artist, like trump has used campaign funds for legal bills, and now Stone claiming he's broke , which I doubt that, and is trying to scam followers to pay for them now. Its all a con job from both of these people all the time.
