Southern California community rocked by Nazi-saluting images

Last edited Mon Mar 4, 2019, 05:52 PM - Edit history (1)

An affluent Southern California community was rocked by social media images of teenagers apparently giving a Nazi salute, while gathered around red plastic cups arranged in the shape of a swastika.

Newport-Mesa Unified School District pledged to cooperate with law enforcement in trying to identify any of its students who might have been in the offending picture and were drinking underage, which appeared on social media over the weekend, according to schools spokeswoman Adriana Angulo.

"These young adults are expressing hatred that has been handed down from an older generation. The current trend of normalizing hate speech has emboldened bigots in their speech, as well as their actions."

He was retweeting, the news outlet has legal obligation to blur the faces, Avanatti does not.

The others look extremely drunk. But they all willfully participated in the bigotry.

executes not just the mentally handicapped, but straight-up kids - usually minorities, of course - I find it just a little too rich that we're worried about protecting these white, Hitler Youth wannabe's from the consequences of their actions.

Racism/bigotry in affluent SoCal is highly irregular. Totes surprising to everyone.

This is not just something that can be passed off as “kid stuff” or a “silly stunt by teens.” They’re old enough to know better, and to know (at some level) that this is offensive and hateful, so one must conclude that this act was deliberate.

Their punishment should include mandatory monitored community service at Jewish homes for the elderly, and mandatory monitored viewing of the most graphic Holocaust documentaries.
