(6,537 posts)No one is sitting by him. The guy pushing his chair toward the table looks miserable too; my guess is he wasn't too impressed with Mr. Civil Rights Hero Who Marched with King in Chicago then Moved to the Whitest State in the Union Sanders.

(14,572 posts)You are being pretty hard on a guy who has been a stalwart member of the Senate for many years, caucusing with the Democrats. To my mind Bernie was one of the people in 2016 who changed the national dialog, and definitely the Democratic Party Platform.
You might not like him - many on here really, really dislike him. But to make offhand statements disrespecting him as you did is just wrong. He doesn't deserve that.

(6,537 posts)The fact is, I think he does deserve it. Every bit.

She still looks beautiful, too.

Some of Hillary's closest aides (Patti Solis Doyle, Huma Abedin) and Bill's (Vernon Jordan) were PoC.

(10,828 posts)the ability to pick herself up after a blow and carry on harder, fiercer, more committed. She talks the talk and walks the walk. Heard her say something to the effect: Our lives are not defined by our losses because we all lose something over the course of a lifetime. Who we are is defined by how we get back up and the direction we take in the aftermath of any loss.
Take it to the bank--words to live by. And watching her career, her life, her passions? This is a life well-lived in the service of others, lived with great heart.
What a grand opportunity we missed!

(10,533 posts)The answer, invariably, is that she would buckle down, hold her head high and stay committed and determined to keep moving forward.
I have to laugh at all the people who said she wasn't "inspiring". She inspires me!

(3,665 posts)She sure doesn't look like she's on her deathbed like the National Enquirer reported when she was running.
