U.S. Supreme Court turns away religious rights case over church grants

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Supreme Court bypassed a chance to further expand the ability of religious entities to receive public funding, leaving in place on Monday a lower court ruling that blocked a New Jersey county from giving historic preservation grants to churches.

supports a outreach program that helps the unemployed, etc., then I'm for it. The line is a tricky one to stay the straight and narrow path on, to avoid the separation of church and state guidelines (of which I am in no way, shape, or form to offer an expert opinion on). The biggest thing is that our founders wanted to avoid the heavy church presence in Europe in the governments of Europe at that time in the new American democracy being established.

Thanks for pointing this very good point out.

They already to not pay taxes on the property to give revenue to the cities or counties they reside in. Why should tax payer funds be used to help them improve the properties? Ridiculous.
