With intensive chemo he lived 16 months. He was 48 when we lost him.

The worst part was that he had to keep working (at the "happiest place on earth&quot in order to keep his health insurance. He'd work most weeks, get his chemo on Friday, then spend the weekends sick when he should have been able to spend time with his kids.

The good news was that other than the chemo reactions he was pretty happy until the last week. He went into hospice care at home on a Friday and was gone by the next Monday.

It's a shame that he couldn't have spent his last months with his family and friends instead of working. I don't know why companies can't make exceptions for terminal cases like this.
