Parents of students in the Green Meadow Waldorf School in Chestnut Ridge have sued the county health department. They say none of the schools excluded children have contracted measles amid the countys outbreak, which started last fall.
According to the Journal News , their lawyer, Michael Sussman, criticized the judges decision Tuesday to deny a temporary injunction that would have allowed the children back in classes.
On the same day, pediatric organizations expressed support for state legislation that would allow minors to get vaccinated without parental consent .

(15,245 posts)and a lot of them wouldn't have had children to make suffer through all of these diseases.
My grandfather died of cholera because it wasn't a required vaccine when traveling. His son (my father) was 4 at the time.
While the stooopids and their gene-line will die off over a few generations they'll also take out a bunch of innocents along the way.
Is this a way for the powerful/monied to thin the flock?

(6,007 posts)Let the unvax kid's parents sign a contract saying that if their kids get sick, then the medical institutions don't have to treat them. That way the kids with vaccines won't get sick and the kids without vaccinations will get to go to school. If they get sick and die . . . oops, karma is a b*tch. They will reap what they planned for.

(2,992 posts)The problem is that it punishes the unvaccinated children, who had no choice in the matter.
A better approach would be to hold them liable for medical expenses for other children who get sick.

(3,626 posts)Because the vaccine isn't perfect, exposure to a fully developed case of measles might affect a vaccinated kid who would have been safe among other vaccinated kids. There are well developed mathematical models for this risk and it increases sharply for everyone as the percentage of unvaccinated individuals goes over a few percent.

(51,590 posts)I got Chicken Pox while in my late 30s from my students (this was before the vaccine came out). That can make males sterile. Is that what anti-vaxxers want to happen? I doubt it if it happens to their husband or son, when it happens to someone else they don't give a damn...selfish asses!
