I study airline crashes as a hobby and a smaller nation asking one of the above to do the recorder readout happens much more often than you think. Nevermind the fact that there is a limited number of countries that can even DO recorder readouts, depending on the type and model...

(2,932 posts)will be finished in the evening when they send the data back to Ethiopia. I have a feeling the BEA will leak what they find because officially they cant give out the information unless the Ethiopians say so.

FWIW our NTSB has been asked to read the recorders of Airbus crashes before without controversy or outrage from Paris.
