I can understand - but still don't agree with - why the male snowflakes like James Woods who were upset with the film. I'm not excusing their stupidity, but understanding them like most of us do, it's not surprising for them to be whining about it.
I, as a guy, found the sequence where she started remembering more of her life, particularly her refusals to stay down after each "failure," inspiring.
Plus, it led right up to an Indiana Jones against the swordsman scene.

(4,544 posts)My daughter (she's an adult) and I both loved it. Our thoughts in a capsule: She's beautiful, but not objectified. She's tough as nails and doesn't give up. She has a military background. She's kind-hearted, but not romantic. (There's no love interest. None.) She's funny, but not flirty. She works well with both men and women, and no one hits on her. Her costume isn't revealing. It's practical for a fighting woman. In fact, the role she plays could have easily been played by a man (and was in the comics). But it wasn't. She and the rest of the cast played it perfectly. Maybe that's the threat. The role is gender neutral, and she is perfect in it while remaining her uniquely beautiful self. I loved her, and think she's an awesome role model.
